READY 2 ExCel:
Texans Can Academies is proud to announce a new, bi-weekly newsletter highlighting the Teacher Incentive Fund 5 grant, Project READY 2 ExCel. Texans Can received this five year grant on October 1, 2016, and it will work hand-in-hand this year and next year with the EEIP grant, Project READY, awarded by the Texas Education Agency. These grants will fund incentive payments for teachers and other educators through the 2020-2021 school year. You may be asking yourself, “What does READY mean?” READY is an acronym for “Rewarding Educators for Academically Developing Youth.” Project Ready has funded stipends to teachers for the past two years based on school-wide performance.
The objective of the project is to increase all students’ academic achievement through establishing an effective human capital management system (HCMS) and performance based compensation system (PBCS) at each target school to: ensure highly effective educators are apparent and retained; foster development of educators who are eager to advance; and recruit and retain high-quality educators eager to learn and teach.
